Mark Dean`s BBQ in Azle

Not sure what happened to this place but the chopped sandwiches have looked like this the last two times. There are definitely better BBQ options in Azle.

Bad food and worse staff, very bitter and unpleasant. I would not go back. When I pulled up to the drive through, the woman came to the window and said “what”. Chopped sandwich tasted sour and had so much grease that the bun was soggy. WORST EXPERIENCE. I suggest White Beard’s BBQ, further down 199 headed toward Springtown.

Staff literally argued with me about what I had ordered. My husband is gluten intolerant and only wanted meat on the side not on a bun. When he returned it nicely asking for meat with no bread like what he had ordered. They gave him a hard time to the point I had to step in. I will never go back.

Not the greatest but its food

Love this place. Food is always excellent and the staff is always friendly. Big enough that rarely do we have a long wait and the drive in is fast as well.

Large portions , good smoke flavor, friendly service! Fried pickles need to be made with a heftier pickle, hamburger slices are to thin.

They dont give you enough good cuts of meat with bark.

Barbecue is good. Service is friendly. Prices are great.

Hot sausage was not that good, neither the cole slaw or potato salad. I haven't tried any of the beef yet.

Stopped by to try them out and it was very tasty. Wish the potato salad was a bit chunkier but the sliced brisket and sauce was top notch!

Firstly, Mark Dean's is a great establishment not only in food quality/portions/price, but the staff here are great. To all the others complaining about the service quality/rudeness: You need to adjust your perspective. Mark Dean's isnt a Chili's or a McDonalds. It's a bar with a restaurant attached. Don't bring your kids, know what you want when you order, and don't whine about not getting a smile. Instead, relish in the awesome bbq sauce, hearty portions, great side items, and, well, decent barbecue.The ribs have been on point every time. The portion size on the bbq sandwiches tends to vary a little, but are great nonetheless. The brisket is a little dry and lean for my tastes, but wholly enjoyable. Mark Dean's is now my go-to stop for BBQ in the Azle area, as it suits what I'm looking for perfectly and stomps the local competition. Don't let the turned-up-nose reviews dissuade you from this little gem. It's definitely worth a try.

Great food relaxing atmosphere. We loved it!

Love the food, but they have on their website that they’re open & we drove ALL the way out here for them to be closed with a sign on the door saying that they’re closed every Sunday & Monday. They need to update their website or it’s going to make a lot of people mad!

Mark Deans is a very solid choice for Azle cuisine. Food is usually out pretty quick, and it is GOOD. However, what keeps this from being a 5-Star is literally every chair in the place wobbles like it's about to fall apart. I haven't ever seen one break, so I know it's probably fine, but it keeps me from really relaxing while esting.

BBQ is not that good. The portions are small and tend to be dry

The food is descusting. Never had anytbing that gross. Employee's are not providing good customer service. A woman forgot to pus sauce in my bag for an orser to go, and when i told her .She rolled her eyes then waled to get it. I held my hand out so she could hand it to me. She saw it but decided to throw it on the counter. Not pleased with my visit. I will not be returning.

Way over priced. Sliced beef plate was 16.99. All of the meat was cold when it got to our table. The sausage is the same stuff you can buy at Walmart. Brisket was dry and tuff. Definitely will not be going back. Explains why it was dead on a Saturday at 530 in the afternoon.

Great service and ice cold beverages!

Staff was very rude, our turkey sandwich had nothing on it looked like they stomped on it, we ordered peach cobbler and ice cream, the ice cream looked like a snow cone.one of the ladies was checking as drive thru order and opened the wrapper and touched the sandwich with her hands, very un organized place and will not be back.

Waitress stopped taking orders to pet a dog and then returned to the line without washing her hands. Brisket was dry, sausage was cold, and turkey had congealed fat from sitting so long. Not a good experience overall, and it says something that we left our $50 dinner to go and grab $5 Dairy Queen.

Well wanted to eat some good fish which is hard to find but they have It here and it was really really good. Enjoyed the service and the food. Way to go guys

They still have the best ranch dressing around but not too fond of the rest of the menu. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is very authentic for a barbecue joint.

I usually stop here on weekdays after work and pick up their 5 chopped sandwiches for $5. Today, Saturday the servings we're tiny. Also way to much cinnamon in sauce. Some days you can't taste it but sometimes it way overpowering. Their sauce is my only negative about the food. Service is usually fast and personable.

Ate here for the first and last time , employees were rude as hell , girl says what do you want , no hello , no how are or can I help you , and I was waiting on my order waitress literally threw my to go order on the tablet and walked off , talking about customers who just left , my BBQ sauce got crushed when she threw bag down as I noticed it dripping from bag , if I were the owner I would fire my staff it's 2:49 Sept.26 see who worked and fire the girls , because I would have came here again , I own 2 different businesses and if my employees treated anyone like this they would be in the food stamp line !!!! STAFF IS RUDE AS HELL , Dont eat here !!!!

Been in the area a few months now and the best BBQ we've found! The ribs are the best I've ever had, and the brisket is right up there.

Food sucked bad. Dry ,dry ,dry brisket in the ribs tasted very old I would never eat at this place again it was a waste of time and money.

Best place to eat in azle and surrounding towns except Sunday and Monday they close and that's my hungriest days .

It's edible. That about the best I can say... Sausage didn't have much flavor to it. Dad ordered a catfish sandwich. He liked it, but you would think they would use a filet type Patty. Nope, they just put 5 or 6 pieces of catfish between to buns. I guess we're just supposed to hope and pray that all the pieces stay on the bun when I lift it up?

We used to love this place and try to come every week or 2The girls get don't give 2 shakes about you. you have to go up and ask for your refills for all you can eat ribs or fishAnother restaurant we will write-off and never come back

I go here for the good all you can eat beef ribs. Not pork ribs. Beef ribs. Great smoke, great flavor. Very good bbq ribs.

My husband called in our order for pickup. He had the phone on speaker. He asked some questions about what is on the menu but the girl on the phone seemed annoyed. He even said 'thank you' and she impolitely hung up on my husband. He goes through the drive thru to pick up our order and she just looks (stares) at him. She starts to walk away then she just stops and says ( you got somthing to say)? After she returned he asked if she was having a bad day and she just says 'y eah' & walks away. I work with the public and what we experienced was awful.And the food,tasted like the chicken fried steak was fried in catfish batter. And the ribs dry as beef jerky! 🙁

Mark Dean has always been a good choice for good BBQ. They have a lot of good options on the menu and their food is always top notch. The staff are friendly and helpful!

I love their bbq but I was really disappointed the last two times I ordered the 5 for 5 bbq sandwiches. The last time there was a tablespoon of meat on each sandwich and the bread was awful, hard and had white spots on them. I thought they were made a week prior. I asked for pickles and onions on the side and did not receive that either not that it mattered I couldn’t eat the sandwiches anyway. I will go back for other items on the menu but I will not order that again.
